The routes are straightforward, and reaching Gir from the significant cities in Gujarat is hassle-free. You can choose any mode of transport - air, rail, or road, the journey to the land of lions promises to be a memorable and exciting one. Be it a quick weekend getaway or an extended vacation, the roads leading to Gir National Park will encompass an additional dose of thrill. 

Ahmedabad to Gir

Ahmedabad, the former capital of Gujarat, is located 319 km away from Gir. Travelling by road takes upto 8-9 hours via NH 51. However, not many tourists are comfortable for such a long journey, especially those with motion sickness. To make a budget-friendly transit, make reservations for trains from Ahmedabad Junction to either Junagadh or Veraval. There are fewer trains available from Ahmedabad to Junagadh and it takes around 6&½ hours to complete the journey. On the other hand, there are several trains available to reach Veraval from Ahmedabad in about 9 hours. Alternatively, those seeking to reduce the journey duration can avail flight from Ahmedabad to Diu. however, there is only one flight available throughout the day.

Vadodara to Gir

Gir National Park is about 373 km away from Vadodara. These two locations are connected by road via NH51. Reserve your tickets from Vadodara Junction to Junagadh, through which you will arrive in Junagadh in 9 hours. You can also book your tickets till Veraval, but the travel time increases to 11 hours. You do not get the option for a flight as there are no direct flights available from Vadodara to Diu Aiport, which is about 67 km from Gir. 

Junagadh to Gir

Junagadh is just 76 km from Gir National Park. You can conveniently travel by road using the Junagadh Road. Although there is a railway station here, but embarking on a train is not required. 

Jamnagar to Gir

The distance between Jamnagar to Gir is approximately 224 km and NH 927D leads to the abode of the Asiatic lions. There is one single train from Jamnagar Railway Station that connects both Junagadh and Veraval Railway Stations. So the choice is all yours, on which station you want to alight from the train. Junagadh Railway Station is 77 km from Gir and Veraval is about 62 km from the national park.

Bhavnagar to Gir

Bhavnagar is 230 km from Gir National Park. You can opt for a road trip from Bhavnagar, as some part of the journey will provide you with a scenic drive along the Arabian Sea. The journey goes through NH 51. No train connections are available from Bhavnagar to Veraval or Junagadh.

Diu to Gir

Diu is situated very close to Gir, at a distance of only 63 km. A captivating drive through GJ SH 98 takes just 2 hours to reach the renowned Gir National Park.

Dwarka to Gir

The famous city of Dwarka, a part of the larger Char Dham Circuit in India, is located 290 km from the national park. Only one train connects Dwarka to Veraval and Junagadh. Moreover, the duration of the travel by both train and cab is around 6 hours. 

Somnath to Gir

Somnath is a well-known religious city in Gujarat, situated along the shores of the Arabian Sea. Reaching Gir National Park from Somnath is too simple, as it is only 57 km away, connected via NH 51. Due to the short distance, it takes just an hour and a half to reach Gir.
